SAFETY
A safety package with the security of OnStar®
StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control assists the driver with directional control of the vehicle in difficult driving conditions. Sensors monitor the path being steered and the direction the vehicle is actually turning. If it detects a difference, it selectively applies brake pressure to the appropriate wheel to help get the vehicle back on track.
Safety Cage Construction
With reinforced steel used for the roof, vertical pillars and side door beams, the safety cage is designed to help preserve occupant space in a crash.
Automatic Crash Response
Impala offers the security of OnStar®(9), with Automatic Crash Response, standard for the first six months. Built-in vehicle sensors can send an alert to OnStar®. Even if you don't respond, an OnStar® Advisor can request that emergency help be sent right away.
Six Air Bags
Every Impala includes six standard air bags(10): dual-stage frontal air bags, side-impact air bags for the driver and right front passenger; and head curtain side-impact air bags for front and rear outboard occupants.adjusts engine torque to help you keep your vehicle on track.
